Child Banner Block

Creating the Block

  1. Add the ‘Child Banner’ block to your editor using the ‘+’ button on the top left of the editor.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the block to switch to edit mode.
  3. Select ‘Add Image’ to browse the Media Library and choose a banner image. (Guide on uploading to the Media Library).
  4. Add a Page Title in the required field, and optionally add a Subtitle and Description text below it.
  5. Add Jump Links by filling in the Link Title and Anchor ID fields in the Jump Links section. You can add multiple links as needed, up to 6 is mosst preferred.
  6. Configure Anchor IDs to match the sections on your page that users will jump to when clicking the links.
  7. Use the Settings tab to access additional configuration options and styling settings for your Child Banner.

Tips & Good practices

  • Make sure to resize & optimize images for this block before uploading it to the WordPress Media Library. Use Web Services’ Optimizer to do this easily.
  • Make sure you add anchor ID without # for the jump links.

Bad Practices

  • Do not hyperlink text in the Child-Banner text box.
  • Do not add any text longer than one or two short paragraphs to the Child-Banner description.
