Custom Blocks

Contact

Creating the Block

  1. Add the Contact block to your editor using the ‘+’ button on the top left of the editor.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the block to switch to edit mode.
  3. The heading autofills as ‘Contact’, but you can change this out if you’d like.
  4. Optional: add one or two short sentences into the Text box. This could be something like “Get in contact with our team!”
  5. Optional: add your UMAC-approved social media links for your department/program.
  6. To add a contact, select ‘Add Row’ on the bottom right. Then add any contact information associated with that person in the following text boxes.

Tips & Good practices

  • Place the Contact block at the bottom of your page.
  • Note that you can customize the display of red lines according to what other elements are on your page- found under the ‘Settings’ tab.
  • Phone numbers should be formatted without extensions ex: 435-123-4567
  • Use +1 on internationally-viewed pages. ex:+1 435-123-4567
  • Capitalize emails with full names. ex: Jane.Doe@utahtech.edu
  • If it’s just a first initial or last name, you don’t need to capitalize. ex: jdoe@utahtech.edu

Bad Practices

  • Do not add more than four contact options. You should aim for one or two, otherwise your users may be overwhelmed.
  • Do not add any other blocks under the Contact block or try to add headshots. This block is for text ONLY.
