Add the Two Column Modern Block to your editor using the ‘+’ button on the top left of the editor.
Click the pencil icon on the block to switch to edit mode.
Go to the ‘Media’ tab and select either Image or Video from the ‘Media Type’ dropdown.
Image: select ‘Add Image’ to browse the Media Library for the appropriate image.
Video: select ‘Add Image’ to browse the Media Library for a thumbnail image. Add a YouTube or Vimeo URL in the ‘Video Link’ box. Optionally add a ‘Video Title’ overlay.
Choose ‘Media Position’ (Left or Right) and ‘Media Size’ — Portrait (600×780, full height) or Landscape (540×400, contained).
Go to the ‘Content’ tab to add a Subtitle (e.g. “STEP 1”), Heading, Description, and an optional Button with text and URL.
Go to the ‘Settings’ tab to choose Background Color (White, Gray, Blue, or Red), Background Width (Full or Partial 70%), and Button Style (Solid Red or Ghost Outline).
Tips & Good practices
Make sure to resize & optimize images for this block before uploading it to the WordPress Media Library. Use Web Services’ Optimizer to do this easily.
Disregard the options regarding sub-sections. These are only to be used rarely in very specific situations.
Bad Practices
Do not place an image on both sides of the block. If you want a way to display multiple images, try using the ‘Gallery’ block.
